EDF Trading has an integrated coal, ocean freight and inland logistics business that is able to offer comprehensive management of the entire supply chain, from sourcing and storage to transportation and risk management.

It manages the transportation of coal, grain products, iron ore and steel products, alumina, cement, fertilizer, and other soft commodities.

It supports EDF Group’s freight requirements, including the supply of coal to EDF’s power plants in France and the UK, as well as servicing third party business.

EDF Trading is also one of Europe’s largest traders in freight derivatives, helping counterparties to lock-in freight costs and manage their freight exposure.

EDF Trading Logistics provides inland logistics services for dry-bulk commodities and fuel oil to the EDF Group and other industrial clients in France and throughout Europe. These activities include inspections, port services, storage and inland transportation.

This is a large-scale business, handling around 10 million tonnes of dry bulk per year, such as coal, steel and grains, and around one million tonnes of fuel oil annually.
