EDF Trading offers biomass procurement, logistical and technical support for coal-fired power generators that co-fire with biomass and is involved in every step of the biomass business including identification, procurement, loading, delivery, storage, product development, regulatory and environmental requirements. It also trades Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROC).

EDF Trading is one of the UK’s largest suppliers of biomass. Its supply portfolio includes peanut hull pellets, olive residues, shea meal, wood pellets, sunflower husk pellets and wood chips.

Biomass is sourced from the UK, throughout Europe, Brazil, North America and Asia. This geographical diversity allows EDF Trading to optimise the choice of biomass in response to movements in exchange rates, freight rates, and supply and demand.
