EDF Trading announces two senior appointments in Power and Gas

EDF Trading, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EDF S.A., announces two senior appointments to its European power and gas businesses:
John Grey has been appointed Head of European Power Trading.  Grey joined EDF Trading in 2002 and has held a number of roles both in the power and gas teams including Head of UK Power, a position he held from 2007 to 2011 and Head of European Gas, his most recent position.

Marcello Romano has been appointed Head of European Gas and Flow Trading.  Romano joined EDF Trading in 2011 as Head of Flow Trading.  He was previously at Rampart Capital, a London-based fund manager which he co-founded.
“These are two great appointments.  John has been with us for over 10 years and has developed an in-depth understanding of both the European power and gas markets.  He knows how EDF Trading operates across the European power market and the role we perform for the EDF Group which makes him the ideal candidate to lead our power business across Europe,” said John Rittenhouse, Chief Executive of EDF Trading.
“Marcello has done a great job of developing our short-term flow activities as well as extending our services in the longer-term market.  He is a natural choice for leading our European gas trading activities which include LNG and LPG trading.  This is an enhanced role for Marcello as he assumes this new position in addition to his current responsibilities,” he continued.
Both appointments are effective immediately.  Grey and Romano will continue to report to Justin Rowland, Chief Commercial Officer, Trading.
