EDF Trading North America announces two senior hires


EDF Trading North America, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EDF Inc., is pleased to announce the appointments of two senior commodity professionals into its origination and sales group.

Tom G. Ruck has joined as Vice President of Financial Sales, having most recently worked at ConocoPhillips as a senior structured products marketer.

Chris J. Schroen has joined as a Director of Financial Sales. Chris joins from BP North America where he was a Director of Derivatives Origination.

The two men will report to Jeff Welch, Senior Vice President, North American Gas Origination.

“We are delighted to have individuals the calibre of Tom and Chris on board”, said John Rittenhouse, Chief Executive of EDF Trading. They will focus on risk management solutions for our clients,” he said.

“Tom and Chris are great additions to our team. We are initiating a very broad effort to add financial hedging capabilities for both producers and consumers of natural gas, crude oil, NGLs and refined products to an outstanding physical platform,” said Jeff Welch.

A graduate of Manhattan College, Thomas has been working in the commodities markets since 1978 when he joined Exxon Corporation as a crude oil trader. His other professional assignments include JPMorgan, UBS, Koch Industries, Merrill Lynch and Fortis.

Chris is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. His previous assignments include Coral Energy Resources, Reliant Resources and American Electric Power Energy Services.
