What are the main trends you see coming into the energy industry?

It is an exciting and ever-evolving market place under increasing political and environmental pressure. An antiquated transmission infrastructure system is bringing about a clash between renewables and utility transmission systems.

The power utility sector faces a need for radical and immediate investment in order to accommodate the onslaught of solar, wind and batteries being built. Innovation will be a key factor when integrating renewables and demand side management. Demand side management will be key to reducing carbon footprint and will help balance supply/demand during peak periods.

Innovation will be a key factor when integrating renewables and demand side management.

Why did you choose a career in energy trading?

It offers a challenging and fulfilling career path for those wanting to be involved in an ever-evolving business sector making an immediate impact upon the world.

An energy career exposes you to a fast-paced problem solving environment that encourages free thinking. At a young age I was interested in macroeconomics and energy trading has allowed me to pursue my dreams.
