We are a strong and reliable counterparty with a solid financial base and a Baa3 credit rating from Moody’s. We manage an extensive portfolio of upstream and midstream assets and have many years of expertise hedging all types of exposures for our customers.

The world is changing as the technological landscape evolves
A low carbon future will lead to a big change in the energy sector. With more renewables and interconnectors and less fossil fuels, the whole electricity system will need to be redesigned which will require a level of optimisation never seen before. In response, we are modernising the way we do business by investing in systems, people and processes. We recognise that advanced analytics and global real time data will make a difference and that will be key to maintaining a competitive advantage and keeping up with the pace of trading as the energy markets advance.
Investments in cutting-edge technologies
Investments in cutting-edge technologies such as FlashBlade by Pure Storage are allowing us to support huge parallel data workloads. Unique in the way it scales; the more we ask the software, the more efficient it becomes. Using just 20% of FlashBlade’s capacity we ran 196 concurrent models at a data range of 36 million messages per second.
Data driven developments
Data driven developments and state of the art models are also being conceived in-house. Employees have been competing in a number of innovation challenges, looking closely in search of potential improvements and disruptive technologies. A hundred new future-proof ideas have already been submitted, the foremost of which are now being implemented.

JERA Global Markets operates one of the largest seaborne energy portfolios in the world. Managing approximately 35 million tonnes of LNG supply per annum, JERAGM has an in-depth understanding of the way local, regional and international energy markets behave. Power Purchase Agreements
We offer a wide range of products in the form of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), both short and long term. Our entry into the green fuels market is underway and we continue to provide the EDF Group and our third-party customers with carbon offsets.
For compliance purposes, EDF Trading also provides market access for European Union Allowances (EUAs), Certified Emissions Reductions (CERs) and hedging services to meet internal requirements.
