JOHN RITTENHOUSE TO STEP DOWN AS CEO OF EDF TRADING

EDF Trading, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EDF S.A., has today announced that John Rittenhouse, Chief Executive, has decided to leave the Company. Béatrice Bigois, currently Managing Director, Customers at EDF Energy, and formerly the CFO of EDF Trading, has been appointed to the position, effective 1st January, 2020.

EDF Trading Chairman and EDF Group CFO Xavier Girre said: “John is an exceptional business leader who has built EDF Trading into one of the best-performing companies in its sector. After a rigorous selection process, the Board is delighted to appoint Béatrice to the role. John Rittenhouse said: “I congratulate Béatrice on her appointment and look forward to working with her on the transition. I’d also like to extend my gratitude to John for his remarkable leadership of EDF Trading and look forward to working closely with him during the transition.”

Rittenhouse will step down as Chief Executive and as a Board member on 31 December, 2019. He will support the transition process through the first half of 2020. A successor to the role of Managing Director, EDF Energy, will be announced shortly.

Rittenhouse Biography
John Rittenhouse has been the Chief Executive of EDF Trading for over 11 years.  John joined the Company at its inception in 1999 as the Chief Financial Officer and was appointed CEO in 2008.  John has worked in the commodity trading industry for almost four decades, and during his tenure the Company has been built into a global leader in physical and financial energy trading and optimization, delivering consistent strong returns for the shareholder.

Bigois Biography
Béatrice Bigois is Managing Director, Customers at EDF Energy, a position which she assumed in January 2014. In 2006, she joined EDF Trading and was responsible for setting up and running its Paris trading office. She was then appointed CFO and Executive Director of EDF Trading, London in October 2008. Béatrice joined the EDF Group in 1994 and has held various roles within Finance, Risk Management and Asset Optimisation at both EDF, EDF Energy and EDF Trading.
