Erin Settegast

Product Control (Houston)

A long-serving employee, Erin has spent her entire career here at EDFT. She must really love her job.

I’m fortunate enough to have a great group of people in product control. It’s an environment where everyone feels comfortable to speak freely at any time.

How do you feel working at EDFT has contributed towards your professional development?

The company took a chance on me 11 years ago and continues to invest in me today. I’ve spent my whole career learning from my colleagues and working with people from many different groups. They’ve always taken the time to sit down and share their knowledge. I’m still learning and developing to this day. That’s what keeps it interesting.

In what way does the work environment stimulate sociability?

Socialisation impacts the environment in a multitude of ways. What comes to mind for me is the camaraderie within our team and across EDFT, which impacts motivation as well as the overall quality of life at work. Socialisation shapes the way employees view teamwork, their work habits and the way information is shared; which are all important factors for success.

When and how do your team members give feedback to each other?

We meet daily as a group which allows an open line of communication. Each team member also has a weekly one-on-one with management. I’m fortunate enough to have a great group of people in product control who get on really well. I believe it’s an environment where everyone feels comfortable to speak freely at any time.

What is your greatest personal achievement?

My greatest personal achievement is my family. My husband and I have three thriving kids who are able to see the struggles and successes associated with hard work. It is not always balanced or pretty, especially in my house, but at the end of the day they know they are loved.
